Phish 08/17/10

Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre, Wantagh, NY

3:30 I left my house with my brother and his two friends and headed NorthEast to Jones Beach. This was my 4th Phish show.

We arrived to the parking lot around 5:45 and started searching the lots for tickets. On our adventure I ran into lots of my headie friends.

We must have circled the lot 10 times and walked down Shakedown Street and saw all the wooks with theirs dogs. Crazy things happen on Shakedown Street. So BEWARE!

This was the last 2 night run of the Phish Summer Tour

8:15 finally came around and we could not find tickets along with 300 other disappointed PhishHeads. But we made the best of it. While listening to the crowd roar from the outside lot and the sound of the crowd singing Fluffhead to Trey's guitar.We all ended up listening to the performance from the parking lot. We even found a spot by a fence where we could see the screen. (The above picture is all the Phish Heads in the parking lot enjoying the show.)

There they were Trey, Mike, Jon, Page rocking the crowd of New York!

GREEN DAY!!!

Green Day Performed at PNC August 15th. The show was great! I had VIP seats, parking and this special bar area. The best part of VIP is the fact they have waiters so you don't miss anything to get food and beverages!

AFI opened...I only knew like 2-3 songs from like 10+ years ago.

Billy Joe brought up on stage, kids throughout the whole show to help sing and dance on stage.

Half way through their performance they started to play Longview which is my favorite Green Day song and had this kid come up and sing, but the loser didn't know the words. I would have rocked that crowd. While the kid was singing Billy found a woman who was able to sign the words of the song and gave her his guitar!

During there performance they band decided to Tease out a whole bunch of covers:

Kiss - Feel Alright (on a saturday night)

Van Halen - You Really Got Me

Gun's and Roses' - Sweet Child of Mine

Bon Jovi - Living On a Prayer

Later on they started to play:

Oh yea did I mention....they did all this while laying on the floor it was quite amusing!

The show was great they played a lot of great songs off of many great albums...

Personal favorite DOOKIE!!!

Umphrey's 2X2

Day 1 - August 7th (21st UM show)

Umphrey's played in Jersey at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park!

Umphrey's went on stage around 7:30 which sucked because I didn't get to listen to them play into my Birthday! But it's all Good!! At the end of the show I once again met Kris Meyers (UM's drummer) He is the man and he signed my ticket!

The set they played was amazing! Instrumentally the guys jammed out a cover of Bruce Springsteen's 'I'm on Fire' from an instrumental Billy Joel's 'Stranger!' It was so sick!!!

Later on they performed The Who's, 'Eminence Front'

Umphrey's Mcgee ended the show with 'August.' I was hoping to have heard this song August 1st but 6 days later is not too bad!

Day 2 - August 8th (23 Birthday) (22 UM show)

Umphrey's performed in Atlantic City at the House of Blues in the Showboat hotel.

I don't think I could have planned this day better then it worked out.

Since Umphrey's came on stage at 10 p.m. they played till 1! It was great

The best part of the show is when Umphrey's Performed my favorite Pink Floyd Song 'Young Lust,' Which is the one song by pink floyd I have always wanted to hear Umphrey's perform. Great Birthday Present! In the middle of Hurt Bird Bath UM Played a little Rage Against the Machine!

Umphrey's Ended the show with 'Reelin' in the Years' a cover by Steely Dan which was the perfect birthday song!

Later that night after the show I ran into Ryan Stasik (UM's basist) Stasik was playing some roulette...Later that night I won $100 played roulette back in my hotel the Harrah's. We didn't go to bed till like 5a.m. and YES I still made it to work just on time!

Galactic @ The Stone Pony

GALACTIC performed at the Stone Pony August, 4th.

Galactic is a Jazz/Funk/Rock band straight from New Orleans.

They have also performed on HBO's TREME (Treme takes place three months after Hurricane Katrina hit)

Galactic hit the stage at 10:30 p.m. with special guests Cyril Neville and Corey Henry.

It was the third time this summer that I got to spend the night watching Galactic tare it up on stage. They are a lot of fun but every time I see them its pretty much the same show each time.

The show was definitely a good time last night. My boy turned 21 at midnight so we partied it up!!!

Bro "I know its only an Hour and a half from me"

Me "Yo, you got any plans today?"

J "No, Why?"

Me "Wanna take a trip up to New Hampshire after we pick up my brother in Rhode Island and go see Umphrey's tonight"

J "....Yes"

Me "Okay ill be you up at 1 to leave"

Me "We are leaving at 1.. See you later!"

Umphrey's Mcgee played at Hampton Beach Casino, Hampton Beach, NH

The show was a party and Rebelution opened. They really pumped the crowd up for Umphrey's.

Umphrey's Set was so good. One would say a dance party. Very electronic show which is always a treat to get an Umphtronic show

Hampton Beach Casino was a pretty cool venue but very small. There were little box seats behind the crowd along the wall that were like little Booths. When Umphrey's returned from there set break Ryan Stasik let the crowd know that some of there friends were making love in the booth during 'booth love' which just gives the song a whole new meaning now!

***Not only was this my brothers 1st show... It was my 20th!!
