what goes up must moe.down

moe. ~ 9/3-5/10 ~ moe.down XI ~ Gelston Castle Estate ~ Moe.hawk, NY

This past labor day weekend I got to spend 3 amazing days along the side of the stage watching 5 of my favorite musicians perform 6 sets of intensive, high rising music.

moe. is my favorite band. And remember this! My favorite band is way better then your favorite band! Come to a show with me this fall/winter and you will see.

2010 is the 20th year that moe. (Chuck. Rob. Al. Vinnie. Jim.)has been together as a band.
This is is the XI year that moe. put on this festival. moe.down took place in Mohawk, New York but for labor day weekend it turned into moe.hawk, New York.

I got to watch all these bands perform this weekend!

Friday finally arrived and I found myself sitting in my campground ready for the weekend by 9a.m. The day was long since there was no music till 5p.m.

The festivities finally began. The Gelston Castle Estate was beautiful. When you walk to the venue area you arrive at the top of the mountain. The stages were at the bottom side by side, so when one band finished the next began.

Day became night and it started to get a little cold. But it was time for what we all came for, the first set of moe. During the second half of the set moe. began to play 'Puebla' a new song first played back in May.

Some would say that moe. and mother nature were one this weekend because the rain began to fall and it started with a drizzle but every time moe. rocked out harder the rain came down harder. It could not have been planned any better.

During Saturday the rain continued on and off all morning. Then it was time for moe. and their second set of the weekend. Rob. Vinnie. Al. Chuck. & Jim. all took the stage and started to play 'Skrunk' and the sun shined down and it was a beautiful day.

-Both moe. & Mike Gordon performed Radiohead songs. Gordan's band is includes Scott Murawski on guitar, drummer Todd Isler, Keyboardist Tom Cleary, and percussionist Craig Myers.

-Watching Nas & Damian play together was pretty cool. Not the Greatest show but they definitely mix Hip-Hop and Reggae real well.
They played 'Welcome to Jamrock' which I love and 'Hip-Hop Is Dead.'

-Grace Potter was Looking as sexy as always but always puts on a fun show for everyone! She even performed Jefferson Airplane's 'White Rabbit'

-Al. played in Ryan Montbleau Band for a song.

-The Brew Covered 'Night Rider theme' for there first set and then 'Jute Box Hero' for there second.

Rage Lincoln's
Headiesberg Address
Four Ground Scores and 11 years ago,
Our five fathers al. rob. chuck. vinnie. & jim.
brought forth in this great state an idea conceived in Squilly tripped out thoughts to proposition that all men may rage equally.
Now we are engaged in great civil antics testing whether or not this community, can handle it's shit. We have met on a great battle field of that war. Mud puddles and dust's, storms of the past and we still spin on.
We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting place for those who gave their lives so we can rage on.
Any hustlers locked away and any one who ate a bad mushroom so we didn't have two hearts broken and friendships ended and all other losses we have all endured we will all remember.
It is not all together fitting and proper that we should do this but in a larger sense, we cannot defecate, we cannot litterbug, we cannot hollow this ground
The world will little know, no longer remember what I say here but it can never forget what we did here.
We raged face.
We made it together.
We took a chance.
We friended a new neighbor.
created a memory and all together experienced the experience together.
moe. shall have a new birth in freedom and that government of the moe.ron's, by the moe.ron's, for the moe.ron's, shall not walk lonely or sober on this earth.
Rage on!
