"Big Brother is Watching You"

2010-11-04
Roger Waters - IZOD Center - East Rutherford, NJ

"Is there anybody out there?"

Roger Water, bassist of Pink Floyd, has now performed 'THE WALL" for the first time in 30 years. The show featured a 240 foot wide, 35 foot tall wall that was built by the intermission and torn down at the end.

“The Wall” was released in 1979 to loads of critical acclaim, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest albums ever released. The album focused on a young musician facing a personal crisis, which has been described as Waters state of mind at the time of release.

For those of you who have lived under a rock for the last 40 years:

The show was amazing due to the visual effects on the wall with all the projectors, the plane that crashed with large explosions, fire, large puppets, flying pig, and kids singing "We don't need no education."

Since "The Wall" was originally written about WWII the visuals projected on the wall had a lot to do with the war that been going on now.
During 'Mother,' when Roger sang, "mother should I trust the government" the wall showed "NO FUCKING WAY!"

During 'Goodbye Blue Sky' the wall showed hundreds of planes flying overhead but instead of dropping bombs they dropped (dollar signs, crosses, jewish stars, shell gasoline symbols, and Mercedes symbols and the star with crescent moons.)

'Young Lust' was amazing and so was 'Comfortably Numb' (My two favorite songs off the album) During Comfortably Numb the guitarist played the solo's at the top of The Wall.

"This next song is dedicated to all the paranoids," said Roger before they performed 'Run Like Hell.' A large black big with slogans all over it flew over the crowd. "FEAR BUILDS WALLS" "YOU BETTER RUN."
